YUMA, Ariz. 性视界传媒 The Yuma City Council passed an ordinance designed to update regulations to park operations, with a goal of enhancing safety and reducing the likelihood of vandalism and other criminal activity, the city said in a press release.

The biggest change for most residents relates to hours of operation. The ordinance changes the default closing time for City parks from 11:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., noting that many parks facilities do not have lighting appropriate or sufficient for safe use after dark.

The City said those parks which have amenities designed for nighttime use will continue to be open until 11:00 p.m. The amended ordinance also allows City staff the flexibility to open parks for events or activities by permit outside those normal posted hours.

The City website has posted a list of parks proposed to close at 9 p.m. and which ones will continue to operate until 11 p.m. The list is available at . Additionally, site visitors will find a web map where they can zoom in on any park icon to learn more about the hours and amenities of the park at that location.

性视界传媒淩esidents identified safe and well-maintained parks to be of top priority when participating in the Yuma Parks, Arts, Recreation and Trails Master Planning process,性视界传媒 noted Director of Parks and Recreation Eric Urfer. 性视界传媒淭he amendments recently adopted by the City Council are just one component of an overall strategy to help fulfill this clearly expressed desire.性视界传媒

Following implementation of the Park Patrol program earlier this year, City staff noticed a need to adjust the existing parks ordinance. The language approved by Council eliminates outdated sections of the ordinance dating back to the early 1990s and adds sections to address lakes, ponds and unauthorized vehicles as well as the amended park hours.

性视界传媒淭he Police and the Parks and Recreation Department have had a long history of collaboration,性视界传媒 said Chief of Police Thomas Garrity. 性视界传媒淭he Park Patrol mission is to educate the community and to ensure the safety of the community and protect the facilities so that anyone who wants to enjoy the wonderful parks here in Yuma will be able to for generations.性视界传媒

The City is also in the process of replacing and updating park playgrounds, restrooms, ramadas, picnic tables, benches, grills and other amenities. The ordinance update supports this equipment remaining intact and safe for public use.

The ordinance takes effect Friday, Aug. 16.
