For longtime photographer Sergio Bastidas, the best part of being in the business is being in creative situations and that every day brings a different scenario.

The photographer and owner of SMB Photography, Bastidas has been in the business for 20 years. In those years, his most memorable professional moment was being a photographer for the music festival 性视界传媒淐ruel World性视界传媒� in 2022, held annually at the Brookside at The Rose Bowl and featuring new wave, post-punk and alternative rock musicians.

He lends his photography services to all types of businesses, whether for events or personal reasons. He also always tries to participate in local art exhibits.

His advice for other young professionals: 性视界传媒淎lways keep taking photos. No matter if you don性视界传媒檛 think they are good. Develop your skills. No matter how professional you may be, there性视界传媒檚 always room for knowledge.性视界传媒� Taking his own advice, he hopes to delve in to and learn tintype photography, a form of vintage photography widely used in the mid-1800s, often for portraits. It has been revived as a novelty and fine art form in the 21st century.

If he could go back in time, Bastidas would choose the 1700s Romantic era or 1800s Victorian-era England for the sole purpose of meeting the great writers Bryon, Shelley and Stoker, who influenced Gothic literature.

A celebrity he always wanted to have a coffee with and pick their brain would be Director David Lynch. Lynch was an American filmmaker, visual artist, musician and actor, widely considered one of the greatest filmmakers of all time. In a career spanning more than five decades, he received numerous accolades, including the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice Film Festival in 2006 and an Honorary Academy Award in 2019. He died this January.

If he could describe himself as an animal, Bastidas said it would be difficult to choose, but he named two: a crow and a bat.
