British police say a musician and friend of Chris Brown has been charged alongside the Grammy-winning singer on allegations they beat and seriously injured a music producer at a London nightclub in 2023. Omololu Akinlolu, who performs under the name 性视界传媒淗oody Baby,性视界传媒 is due to appear Saturday in Manchester Magistrates性视界传媒 Court on a charge of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Brown was jailed without bail on the same charge Friday, throwing his upcoming tour into question. Akinlolu is a rapper from Dallas, Texas, who has collaborated with Brown and Lil Wayne. Police say Akinlolu is charged in connection with the same incident as Brown.

R&B singer Cassie has finished testifying at her ex-boyfriend Sean 性视界传媒淒iddy性视界传媒 Combs' federal sex trafficking trial. She spent four emotional days on the witness stand during which she was questioned about the deepest, most disturbing secrets of her sex life and described being beaten and raped by a man she once loved. When Judge Arun Subramanian told her she could leave Friday, Cassie glanced once toward the jury but never looked in Combs性视界传媒 direction as she walked out of the courtroom for the final time. Combs has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and other charges. He denies allegations that he exploited his status as a music executive and businessman to force women into group sex.

The New Jersey man convicted of stabbing author Salman Rushdie on a New York lecture stage in 2022 has been sentenced to serve 25 years in prison. Hadi Matar was sentenced Friday in a western New York courtroom, where a jury found him guilty earlier this year of attempted murder and assault. The 27-year-old stabbed Rushdie multiple times, blinding him in one eye, as the author was about to speak at the Chautauqua Institution. Matar next faces a federal trial on terrorism-related charges. Although the first trial focused mostly on the details of the knife attack itself, the next one is expected to delve into the more complicated issue of motive.

The chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has stepped down temporarily pending the outcome of an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct. Karim Khan has categorically denied accusations that he tried for more than a year to coerce a female aide into a sexual relationship and groped her against her will. An investigation by The Associated Press last year found that two court employees, in whom the alleged victim confided, came forward with the accusation a few weeks before Khan sought arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu, his defense minister and three Hamas leaders on war crimes charges.
